Creating a website for my romantic Cheshire wedding

Hands down a wedding website is the easiest way to share need-to-know information with your guests in one convenient place. With so much information to pass on, it offers an overflow from your invitation and provides a fantastic reference point to inform your guests of everything they will need to know.

We recommend adding the following to your romantic wedding website.

Registry Information – It’s not mandatory for guests to give you a gift therefore wedding invitations are no place for your registry information. Place gift requests on your website so it doesn’t look like you’re expecting a gift from your guests. Add links to your registry retailers or preferred charities to donate to.

Adults-only announcements – If you plan an adult-only wedding and are not including children, then we recommend that rather than adding this to your official invites you use your website to announce this fact. If you are inviting children, then use your site to outline the rules or any plans for babysitting or activities to keep them occupied.

Dress code – If you want to get specific about your wedding dress code, then use your website to elaborate on what is required. Here you can make suggestions such as appropriate footwear if it’s an outdoor venue, or the need to bring a wrap to cover bare skin during a religious ceremony.

The wedding party – This is for your wedding bios – all those people – bridesmaids, groomsmen and other VIPs that you want to mention. Share fun facts about the chosen few – including photos and how you’re related or how you met.

Transportation and overnight accommodation – Advise your guests about any rooms you have blocked booked with all the details they will need to reserve a room. Any transportation arrangements should be included here – you might also want to consider adding local car services and activities to keep your guests happy during their stay.

Your story – Write the story of how you and your betrothed met, fell in love and got engaged. You can upload and share photos of your relationship milestones to get your guests excited for the big day and for any guests that may not know you or your partner as well as other guests might, it will help them go into the wedding without feeling left out.

Things to leave out – Avoid mentioning any exclusive events to which only close family members and your wedding party are invited to, this will avoid other guests feeling hurt by not being invited along. Don’t post anything compromising that you wouldn’t want your mother to see – once it’s online it’s hard to get rid of!

The venue – Here, you can give your guests a preview of your venue and provide details of how to get there using various modes of transport. It is a good idea to pre-empt any questions guests may ask such as if there is free parking and or if there are certain facilities and disabled access.

Choose Dunham Forest Golf & CC for your romantic wedding day – you can relax and let us take the pressure away.

We have an online interactive 3D plan of our Clubhouse that we can provide if requested. This is a state-of-the-art way for our couples to show their guests the wedding venue whilst also offering details of access and facilities that pictures cannot convey. Although, nothing can convey the unique beauty of our venue like a viewing in person so we would love to show you around and introduce you to our team of wedding professionals who can guide you through all of the stages of planning.
